Hapcheon Ilryu Dwaeji Gukbap (합천일류돼지국밥) in Sasang, Busan, is my favorite stop for pork soup rice (dwaeji gukbap, 돼지국밥). Open 24 hours, it serves rich, garlic-forward broth, tender pork slices, and satisfying portions with free rice refills. Always busy, always comforting — this is Busan comfort food at its best.
Sasang’s 24-Hour Comfort Spot

Right by Sasang Station, Hapcheon Ilryu Dwaeji Gukbap (합천일류돼지국밥) has been a Sasang landmark since opening its doors in 1995 by founders Kim Sung‑ho and his wife . Starting tiny, they earned a devoted following with bowls rich in garlic aroma and flavorful broth. As word-of-mouth grew, they expanded from that modest storefront to the spacious, 100-seat dining hall it is today.
Despite its simple, no-frills look, the restaurant runs like clockwork: clean, well-lit, and ready for both early risers and late-night diners. With on-site parking and round-the-clock opening, it’s become a dependable stop for office workers on lunch break, taxi drivers grabbing a hearty bite at dawn, families enjoying a casual dinner, or crowds winding down after late-night outings . That steady flow—across decades—proves how deeply woven this spot is into the fabric of Sasang life.
Garlic-Packed Broth, Tender Pork

The signature dwaeji gukbap (돼지국밥) here now costs 11,000 KRW. What makes it special is the broth — rich, full-bodied, but most importantly, packed with garlic flavor. As soon as your bowl arrives, you can smell that familiar garlic aroma. You can even press fresh garlic directly into your soup to make it even more intense. The garlic doesn’t overwhelm but brings a deep, warming flavor that complements the pork perfectly. Unlike some thicker, milkier versions of pork soup, Hapcheon Ilryu’s broth stays light and easy to drink while still delivering plenty of richness.
The pork itself is sliced thin, tender, and juicy. Each bite melts in your mouth, soaking up the broth’s flavor while still holding its texture. The rice inside the bowl is mixed in using the torim (토렴) method, where hot broth is poured over the rice several times to warm it evenly and integrate the flavors fully.
While the regular gukbap is always reliable, I personally love ordering their suyuk baekban (수육백반), which costs 13,000 KRW. It’s a plate of sliced boiled pork served separately with rice and side dishes. The suyuk is incredibly soft and served warm, perfect for dipping into the soy sauce or salted shrimp that comes on the side. If you want a bit more variety and a slightly heavier meal, the suyuk baekban is highly recommended.
The self-serve side dishes are another highlight here — spicy kimchi, radish, green onions, and salted shrimp — all freshly prepared and constantly refilled. And of course, extra rice is always free, so you never have to worry about running out of broth to soak it up.

Reliable and Always Open, Day or Night
One of the best things about Hapcheon Ilryu Dwaeji Gukbap is its 24/7 opening hours. Whether you want a filling breakfast, a comforting lunch, a quick dinner, or a late-night recovery meal, this place is always ready. The staff work quickly but stay friendly and attentive, refilling your sides before you even ask and making sure everyone is well taken care of.
Even though it’s always busy, you rarely feel rushed. The flow of customers moves smoothly, and there’s a quiet rhythm to how everything operates. You sit down, order your soup, customize it with garlic, dig into the warm pork, and before long, you leave feeling full and satisfied.
The location is easy to access and very close to Sasang Station, which makes it a great option if you’re traveling or passing through the area. And no matter how many times you visit, the taste stays consistent — warm, savory, and exactly what you came for.
